Fort Augustus is situated in the centre of the Great Glen and is midway between Inverness and Fort William.

It is a small tourist orientated village with the Caledonain Canal passing through Fort Augustus in a dramatic series of locks stepping down to Loch Ness. It has a variety of bars, shops and restaurants in a picturesque setting.
