The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is vital. It is the industry standard and good-paying employers demand it. To earn this card you must pass tests including the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) health, safety and the environment test.

If you do have a CSCS card, your skills will travel; the European Qualification Framework ensures that the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) you gained to get your CSCS card is recognised across Europe (this being written before Brexit).
