The UK as a whole has a rising demand for housing, just look at the news reports. That is why it is vital that the housing sector has skilled staff who can keep property letting times to a minimum so no housing stock lies empty while people are waiting.
At an administrative level a wide range of skills are needed, from analysts and logisticians to people who know their way round a data base. Experience of working in housing management, tenancy and estates is always in demand.
As are housing paralegals and many other degree level skills.
It is not all back-office work; much of the job can be dealing with the public, with enquiries for services, tenant support, handling nuisance or antisocial behaviour, rent arrears, services charges and promoting resident involvement. Good people skills are very highly valued within this sector.
There is nothing quite like being handed the keys to your new home and you can help people achieve just that.
