Creative Scotland is the public body supporting the arts, screen and creative industries across Scotland as a development agency, distributing funds from the Scottish Government and The National Lottery. The organisation has a 10-year (2014-2024) plan to grow the arts here in Scotland through a strategy funding advocacy, development and influence.
In May 2018 the plans for Scotland’s new Screen Unit to attract film makers were given an extra £2 million thanks to the Scottish Government and the National Lottery to create employment opportunities for Scottish crews, production facilities, and helping to develop Scottish-based film producers. The aim is to attract large-scale productions and maximising spend in Scotland and further building on the record levels of film and TV production that Scotland has been experiencing in recent years.
