Living in Stirling
Stirling is located in central Scotland, and the city itself has a very old town feeling as it’s built around a large, medieval fortress. The area offers a different experience to the usual hustle and bustle you’ll find in bigger cities, and there are more than a few small, scenic villages around to explore. While the area is known for its medieval charm, the city itself has a modern side to it as well. Its popular theatre and arts centre, Tolbooth, along with art spaces like Changing Room and Albert Halls are constantly bringing new musical and artistic events for the locals to enjoy. In general, there is no shortage of community events for everyone to get involved in, depending on what their interests are. Stirling's location is extremely convenient for those with family or friends in Edinburgh and Glasgow, or those who need to get there for work purposes once in awhile, as it’s just a short commute away from both cities. Many compare Stirling to Edinburgh, calling it a "mini" version of the city, as they have a few things in common - a rich history, romantic hills, and winding roads. That said, the cost of living in Stirling is much lower, offering those who live there with a similar experience for less.

Stirling's opportunities within the retail industry provide newcomers with an easy way to get to know their community, as many locals will be stopping in daily and weekly to do some shopping.
