Living in Dingwall
If you are a keen golfer you would love to live in Dornoch; the royal burgh’s course was once voted the fifth best in the world outside of the USA. Royal Dornoch is the most northerly championship course in the world. It is next to the award winning, blue flag beach; Dornoch is the kind of place that entices you outdoors, with wonderful woodland walks, historic town streets and the cathedral to explore and estuary bank and loch fishing.
With so much on offer tourism and the hospitality industry are both major employers as is farming.
There is something special about such a historic place and the beautiful, historical centre of town built in a soft-coloured stone. The town’s primary school pupils go on to Dornoch Academy where they join youngsters from other primary schools in the area.
The town is less than 45 miles by road to Inverness hub of the region’s social and cultural life with plenty of shopping, theatre, cinema and an incredible live music scene. Inverness Airport has links with the major UK airports and Europe and to the national rail network including the Caledonian Sleeper service to London. Dornoch has regular bus links to Inverness daily.
