Tarbert

Tarbert is a traditional fishing village with an excellent harbour which now also plays host to a wide range of yachts and pleasure craft.

The village hosts the annual Scottish Series sailing event every May. Tarbert Shellfish export locally caught seafood to Europe and most of the local hotels and restaurants include local seafood on their menus.

Tourism will have a significant impact on commercial life. A ferry service to Portavadie also diverts to the Isle of Arran during the winter ferry timetable.
